This Saturday, 15th of April, sees our U16 Girls host Portlaoise in the Semi Final of the SFAI Cup.
The girls are unbeaten all season in all competitions. The squad began their journey with a 4-0 win v Clonmel Town. Next up was a 3-1 win v Callan United. The girls next went to Limerick and defeated Regional United 2-0. The last 16 saw a near 900km round trip to North Donegal where Cockhill Celtic were beaten 2-0. The quarter final saw a 1-0 win iver Connolly Celtic from Clare. Portlaoise will be a tough challenge as they are the current holders of the Cup.
The girls progress has been built on a strong defence with just one goal conceded in their five fixtures. Sarah Abullo is the teams top scorer in the competition with four goals with six players on the scoresheet in the competition. The girls are seeking to become the first Bohemians side to win an SFAI Cup and Saturdays fixture is the first time we have hosted a National Semi Final at Ben Wadding Park.
