March 2023 will see the first of our new monthly club development draw by supporting this draw, you are helping the club develop our facilities over the next 5 years. We are planning to increase carparking in Ben Wadding Pk, install a new 3G FIFA approved main pitch, new dressing rooms, club gym, meeting rooms and we need your support to achieve these goals. Please support this initiative and if you require any further details, get in touch with any committee member.
Ronan O Connor: This month we were all left numb with the sad news of the passing of Ronan O Connor. Ronan was a valued club member and played with our Fourth Division squad while also helping the Third Division squad whenever called upon. The club wishes to express their deepest sympathy and condolences to Ronan's wife Miriam, son Nathan, his parents Pat & Carole, sister Arlene, brother Barry, his sister-in-law Fatima, brother in laws Martin and Juan Pablo, nephew Shane, mother-in-law Lola and to all his extended family and friends. Ronan was a gentleman to the core and his presence will be sadly missed around Ben Wadding Park. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam Dilis.
Premier Team Matches in February We played 3 league fixtures during the month: Tramore and Villa at home and Hibernians away. We only picked up one point over these 3 games, but the performances were generally very good. We have a total of 15 points heading into the final third of the season and we are sure Matt, and his coaching team will be keen to pick up wins and have a good run in the Ardagh Cup.
Upcoming Events: Our girls U16, U17s and U19s head away to (hopefully) sunny weather in May with a trip to Barcelona. This promises to be a fantastic social and developmental trip for our older girls facing Spanish opposition in a small tournament, being trained by coaches from the Catalan FA and taking in the Catalonian Derby between Barcelona and Espanyol on 14 May.
Academy: We continue at the Kingfisher Club Astro every Saturday morning at 9am, now with over 100 kids attending every week. New members, boys or girls are most very welcome, just come along any Saturday and learn all about football, friendships and become a part of the Bohemians FC family. All fully paid-up members will receive a FREE Academy kit (jersey, shorts, socks).
Bespoke Club Half Zip: We have ordered our club bespoke O Neills half zip top and stock will arrive in late March, early April. This top is not available to order through our club online shop with O Neills, but will be available to purchase directly. More details will follow in March newsletter.
Look out for the next monthly edition with more club features and news coming in March 2023!
