SFAI U16 Girls Cup Final

Athenry v Bohemians – May 27th, Terryland Pk, Galway.

Club history was made when our brilliant U16 girls team beat Athenry in the final, Sarah Abullo and Myah Murphy with the goals. A truly historic night for the club. A huge amount of people has put in trojan work over the past 5/6 years in our girl’s section and particularly with this group, we got our reward. Ian, Jason, and Lisa as coaches, take a bow! To the players, well done girls, the club is so very proud of you all and thank you! To the parents, also a big thank you, you all have supported your daughters fantastically well and without that support, it just would not work.

You all still have so much to look forward to in the current season with local cups and leagues still to play for at multiple ages. Keep it going girls!

U14 Boys Southeast Regional Cup Final

Gorey Rangers 2-0 Bohemians

A brilliant effort by the boys in Carlow, coming up short for the second season in a row in the Regional Cup Final. Two goals in the last 10 minutes settled a very competitive game with both teams leaving everything out on the pitch. This was the players 16th game in National Competitions over the last two seasons, a brilliant record. Unlucky boys and coaches.

U12 Girls Southeast Regional Cup Final

St Fiaccs 1-3 Bohemians

We won our first Regional Cup in girls or boy’s grades when our super U12 girls won a very competitive final. Lily Codd, Isabella Doyle, and Sophie Whittle with the goals on the day. A brilliant achievement. Well done girls and coaches.

Club Development Draw:

As you all are aware, March saw us launch our Development Fund scheme to enable us to reach our goals of developing the grounds and facilities over the coming years. In the very near future, we will start to see the 1st phase of this taking shape as we begin to expand the parking capacity to allow for quicker and more convenient drop-offs and collections.

None of these strategic initiatives happen without a huge amount of work behind the scenes, so thank you to everyone involved in this to date. Neither does it come cheaply and to help fund these projects we have put in place a Development Fund scheme, enabling players, coaches, and parents to donate €10 per month which will be put solely towards these plans. As an incentive for this donation, everyone will be entered into a draw that will take place 12 times per year with a monthly prize fund of up to €500 worth of cash and prizes. This club is one of the oldest in Waterford and thousands of children, teenagers and adults have played a part in the successful history of the club to date.

We, as a committee, appreciate that the current economic environment is difficult but urge you to help drive this club forwards and allow us to develop the facilities that you and your children deserve. Please sign up to the development plan and help push Bohemians into a brighter new future. Aprils winners below, please get signed up for May!

Football For All Squad:

We travelled to Cahir Pk to represent the club in two games against Cahir Pk and Ballymackey. A brilliant day, well run by the hosts. We had a draw in game one and won the second game. A big thank you to George Flynn, Oscar Flynn, and Finn Fitzpatrick who have been helping this team since we started in 2018. Well done to all involved.

Upcoming Events:

Thank you:

As the season draws to a close over the next few weeks its important to thank everyone involved in the club from players, parents, coaches, supporters, sponsors, and ex members who all have played their own part over the previous 12 months. The club is in a very good place, and we look forward to more improvements over the next few months. We still have some leagues and cups to play for in June and we hope all players enjoy these games.

We hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter and thank you for taking the time to read.
